To celebrate science week we decided to start with the connection between what happened to the dinosaurs and how earth has developed since then. We discussed how the dinosaurs became extinct and that there are mainly two versions a great big meteorite or a volcanic eruption.
We showed children some ingredients and explained that we were going to create a chemical reaction but they had to predict what would happen. They were quite surprised when they saw the reaction of the ingredients cause an eruption which then spilled over-just like an active volcano.
We ended the week with talking about growth and the connection of what we plant to the dining room table. So coriander seeds were planted, watered and discussed. This was also a nice little gift for Mother's Day .
