Our Numeracy Targets
Number and Place Value:
- I can count to and across 100, forwards and backwards, beginning with 0 or 1, or from any given number
- I can count, read and write numbers to 100 in numerals
- I can count in multiples of twos, fives and tens
- I can identify one more and one less than a given number
- I can identify and represent numbers using objects and pictures including a number line
- I can use the words equal to, more than, less than (fewer), most, least and know what they mean
- I can read and write numbers from 1 to 20 in numerals and words
Addition and Subtraction:
- I can read, write and understand + addition sign, - subtraction sign, = equals sign
- I know my number bonds up to 20
- I know that subtraction is the opposite to addition
- I can add and subtract one-digit and two-digit numbers to 20, including zero
- I can solve one-step problems that involve addition and subtraction, using concrete objects and pictures
- I can solve missing number problems 7= ? - 9
- I can add 3 one-digit numbers
- I have started to remember my number bonds to 10 and 20. (I know what happens if I add or subtract 0)
Multiplication and division:
- I can use arrays to represent multiplication
- I can show grouping when I am doing a division question
- I can solve one-step problems involving multiplication and division
Fractions:
- I can recognise, find and name a half as one of two equal parts of an object, shape or quantity
- I can recognise, find and name a quarter as one of four equal parts of an object, shape or quantity
Measurement:
- I can sequence events in chronological order using language
- I can recognise and use language relating to dates, including days of the week, weeks, months and years
- I can tell the time to the hour and half past the hour and draw the hands on a clock face to show these times
- I can compare, describe, measure and solve problems for lengths and heights (long/short, longer/shorter, tall/short)
- I can compare, describe, measure and solve problems for mass or weight (heavy/light, heavier/lighter than)
- I can compare, describe, measure and solve problems for capacity and volume (full/empty, more than/less than, quarter)
